Car Design Journey

Follow me on my journey to design a car. I am not experienced with the full process, so I'll learn by doing it.

Blender 3D

The one on the left for us is the new guidemesh. I made the front much wider. Both these guidemeshes are also a newer version compared to last time. I removed the details on the side-windows.

Here you see why I removed the details. The details deformed the shape of the roof

Without the details the roof is much smoother. I guess I forgot what I've learned at the start of the process. Don't add too much detail too soon!!

It's been a few months since my last post. I've been working on the guidemesh and also taking Blender courses. However, I did the modeling before I started the courses. In future posts, I can apply what I've learned.

This is my latest render. There is still a lot to be done. The entire front needs to be adjusted to match the design.

After completing the drawings, it was time to create a 3D model. Here’s the progress made so far:

I began creating the car in 3D using Blender, but my initial attempt had the front end appearing too flat when viewed from above.
Then I began a completely new model, ensuring that this time the front end would have more depth than the previous one I created.
However, this time I focused too much on the details. Adding too many details makes it more challenging to maintain smooth surfaces. Additionally, there was a sense that something wasn’t quite right.
I restarted once more and identified the issue with the earlier version. The roofline was too steep. Someone even referred to it as a "Liberty Walk Lightning McQueen."
This is my current progress. There's still a lot to accomplish and many details to incorporate, but I believe this is the best I have done so far.
While working on the car, I will upload the 3D model to p3d.in. The updated model you can find at
